Dr. Jaramillo is a Senior Technical Staff Member and Manager for Mobility Innovations in the IBM CIO Lab. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at Florida Atlantic University in 2013 specializing in Mobile Virtualization Techniques. He also received his M.S. degree in Computer Science in 1990 and his B.S. degree in Mathematics and Computers in 1988. He has been a member and contributor to the computer industry for over 25 years and has been with IBM for 20 years. He joined IBM in 1992 to work on the OS/2 project for 7 years, then joined the IBM Embedded ViaVoice in 1999 for 8 years where he delivered several embedded speech releases to major customers and delivered the IBM Embedded Multimodal Speech Browser. He is an IBM Master Inventor with over 40 patents issued and published numerous technical papers in several journals and conferences. Currently, his areas of research are around mobile, cognitive computing and internet of things.
