Boca Raton, Fla. (November 4, 2014) – The Research Park at Florida Atlantic University has been awarded the Silver Excellence in Economic Development Award for 2014 by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). Selected from more than 560 international applicants, this award comes to the Research Park for the second year in a row.
The honor was presented to Bruce C. Rosetto, Board Chair, Research Park at Florida Atlantic University and Andrew Duffell, president & CEO, at an awards ceremony during the recent IEDC Annual Conference in Fort Worth, Texas.
“Economic development efforts have long been a keystone in the quest to bolster the economy and improve quality of life in every locality across the country,” said Bill Sproull, IEDC chair. “With this award, we laud trendsetting organizations like the Research Park at Florida Atlantic University for leading the charge.”
In receiving the award, Rosetto thanked the many Research Park companies whose collaboration further supports the Research Park’s reputation. “Winning this national award two years in a row against stiff competition is especially significant. It shows how hard everyone associated with the Research Park is working to pursue our strategy of focusing on the advancement of research and technology to further South Florida’s economic development goals.”
The IEDC Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year’s most influential leaders. These awards honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban, and rural communities.
