Boca Raton, Florida – December 11, 2014 – Modernizing Medicine, Inc., creator of the Electronic Medical Assistant® (EMA™), a cloud-based, specialty-specific electronic medical record (EMR) system, announced today that co-founder Daniel Cane has been named one of the CEO World Awards’ CEOs of the Year. The awards program recognizes companies, products, websites and CEOs who exemplify the best in leadership, innovation and organizational performance. More than 40 judges reviewed nominations, with their average scores determining the winners.

“It is an honor to receive this recognition,” said Daniel Cane, CEO and co-founder of Modernizing Medicine. “This has been an incredible year full of accomplishments for our company, all of which could not have been realized without the support, enthusiasm and extraordinary efforts of the entire staff.”

The announcement comes shortly after Modernizing Medicine closed on approximately $15 million of an expected $20 million funding round. This latest funding comes from existing investors, led by Summit Partners and Pentland Group. The money will help Modernizing Medicine continue to grow and develop its offerings and employee base. Specifically, the company expects to fill 100 new positions in the next 12-18 months.

Winners will be honored at the SVUS Awards Ceremony and Dinner in San Francisco, California on June 29, 2015. For the full list of winners, visit: http://www.ceoworldawards.com/world
