The Max Planck Institute in Jupiter is holding its ribbon cutting this week – another significant milestone for Life Sciences in South Florida.  The Palm Beach Post ran a big story (http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/news/local/publics-big-gamble-on-max-planck-to-be-put-to-the-/nTLcT/ ) with an insert (http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/local/max-planck-120312/ ) in yesterday’s paper, and it’s worth reading.

The kick-off was today, with several notables attending, including Jeb Bush, the person most responsible for Florida’s move into the Life Sciences, and Karen Marcus, who led the local support.  Again, read the Palm Beach Post article (http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/news/jeb-bush-commends-science-at-max-planck-appearance/nTMhz/ )

We all welcome the Institute and its staff to our region.  Visit the Open House on Saturday, December 8.
