A few days ago the Sun Sentinel ran an op ed article by Andrew Duffell of the FAU Research Park.  He talked about the most effective role government can play in the development of the Life Sciences and Technology community in Florida, and the article is well worth reading.  He makes the excellent point that government should focus more on funding technical education and supporting local start-ups than on trying to incent companies to come to Florida in competition with other states – a strategy that has come in for a lot of criticism lately.
