Dear IAMCP members and community:

 

 

We want to thank you all for helping us grow our attendance and participation in IACMP in FY12 by leaps and bounds.  Over this past year we saw our local VAR Community really get involved in the chapter and more of the great types of partners like LAR’s, System Integrators and Business Solution Partners along with ISV’s and Hosting partners really engage.

 

We now have a record 17 members volunteering to do take roles on the board and we need it to keep up all the good work that is going on.  We encourage you to step up and serve if you are interested in getting more engaged and growing your business through IAMCP. 

 

While we all have celebrated a great 12 months behind us, we are now ready to look forward and keep driving momentum early and often.  During our South Florida Board meeting last week we slated these upcoming events to help make FY13 the best year ever for the South Florida IAMCP community.

 

  • Our meetings are the same day every month at a new timeso you can mark your calendars for the second Thursday each month at 4:30 pm at the Microsoft offices in Ft. Lauderdale on Andrews Avenue.
  • This month in August we are planning a great meeting for this Thursday to talk more about the new Small Business Specialist Competency and how this will effect VAR’s and MSP’s.
  • In September the LAR community will be gathering to talk about licensing and how it all Shakes out.
  • In October we’ll see Windows 8 & Server 2012 go from RTM to GA (Generally Available) so we’ll be giving everyone a more in depth look with one of the very best technical trainers around, Adam Gordon from New Horizons.
  • In November we will be in full launch for all the wave 15 product line up so expect some large Microsoft Events and our meeting will be focused on how to drive net new business and help our customers move to the new Microsoft products.  Keep in mind Microsoft is launching more new versions of product this year than has ever happened at once before.
  • In December we will be having our holiday party with our awards ceremony to recognize partners and Microsoft staff that have helped our ecosystem become one of the best in the country.  If you all came to our joint holiday party last years with SFTA it was a blast, we look forward to seeing you all again this year.
  • January will kick off H2 (2nd Half) of the Microsoft FY13.  We plan to have several key execs down including Jon Roskill, Sr. VP who owns the Microsoft Partner Program worldwide and who has committed to me that he will be here for our chapter meeting (while it’s snowing in Redmond) and we also plan to have our annual meeting at Citrix in the spring.  Spring will also usher in our First Annual IAMCP Golf tournament.  We plan to push into summer with a P2P matchmaking Open House and finish with a Rebate review meeting and a WPC Alumni Panel.

The International Association of Microsoft Channel Partners (IAMCP) helps Microsoft Channel Partners, Business Solutions Partners and Registered Partners grow their businesses. Founded in 1994, the organization includes nearly 4,000 companies in 33 countries, and over 80 chapters worldwide. The IAMCP provides Microsoft Partners a voice into Microsoft programs, to the IT community at large, as well as a vehicle to facilitate business development among partners.
